Miała być cała dzielnica, jest raczej kwartał – kilka bloków. Powstały na Expo 58, stoją niedaleko miejsca wystawy. Najpierw miały służyć obsłudze pawilonów krajowych – jak wiosna olimpijska sportowcom. Teraz mieszkają w nich brukselczycy.
Inspiracje Le Corbusier’em są wyraźne. Wtedy uchodziły za nowoczesne budownictwo. Dzisiaj też nie można odmówić im uroku.
It was meant to be the whole district but finally it is rather a block – there are few buildings only. They were constructed for Expo 58, they are located not far from the exposition’s location. Initially they were built to be used by the staff of pavilions of different countries – like an Olympic village by athletes. Now the inhabitants of Brussels live here.
The place is clearly inspired by Le Corbusier. It was seen as modern architecture then. You cannot say today that they are not charming at all.
